MPFA claim U12 and U14 titles as U16s snag Silver for the second year in a row at Jos Chillin’ tournament
The Annual Jos Chillin Football Tournament extravaganza finally came to an end on Saturday, 4th of February 2023. With the event not being held in its usual December date in 2022, it finally Kick-off on the 21st of January with the U10s and U12s categories, playing in knockout format.
Jazzy Stars FA emerged Champions of the U10s category after defeating Sporting Boys 3-0 in the finals while Mees Palace Football Academy emerged Champions of the U12s category by defeating Jeddy Academy 5-2 in the first Jos Chillin U12 finals.
The U14s and the U16s Categories which featured teams From Bauchi, Kano, Benue and Kaduna State started on the 28th of January 2023 with the teams potted into groups.
With the U14s finals playing under floodlights, Mees Palace Football Academy emerged Champions of that category yet again, defeating Jeddy Academy 5-1.
In what was a keenly contested U16 final, Shield FC of Kano State defeated Mees Palace Football Academy U16s by a lone goal subjecting them to back-to-back final losses.
The ladies were not left out with Nike Girls defeating Mees Palace Football Academy Lynxes in the Final game to emerge Champions of the ladies’ Category of the Jos Chillin Tournament.
It didn’t end there. The Gala Night and Award ceremony with the support of LaLiga had representatives in attendance. The Country manager of LaLiga, Mr Desmond Chiji, the Project Coordinator Ayodeji Adegbenro and former Nigerian International and Real Sociedad Midfielder who is now LaLiga’s Ambassador in Nigeria, Mr Mutiu Adepoju were in attendance at the Gala Night to present individual and team awards.
