MPFA U16s get back to winning ways as U14s record double wins in the Tsenba Wummen League

Mees Palace Football Academy (MPFA) U16s got back to winning ways in Week 28 of the Tsemba Wummen league after a 6 -1 thrashing of Top Free in a matchday 28 fixture, a match that took place on Nigeria’s Independent Day.

Kelvin Adeyemo gave the “blue panthers” an early lead with a sublime top corner finish two minutes into the game, David Shammy then doubled the lead in the 13th minute.

Goal maestro, Ahmed Musa, then increased the lead of the team in the 23rd minute with a wonderful shot from outside the box. Kelvin Adeyemo then scored his second goal of the day minutes later with a near-post finish.

Sumfat Julius and Shalom Anno then scored one goal each in the 41st and 56th Minutes respectively to round up proceedings. Samuel Aputhazie scored the Consolation goal for Top Free Academy.

Less than 24 hours later, our boys took to the National Sports commission pitch, but their opponents, Royal Stars failed to show up.

Elsewhere, our U14s stormed to straight victories in weeks 25 and 26 of the Tsemba Wummen U14s league.

First off was Jazzy Stars, a match that we laboured to win in the first stanza of the league. After the first 20 minutes of the ding-dong affair, it was Emmanuel Jawowho opened the scoring for our boys as he poked home the ball from close range to open the scoring for us. However, it wasn’t long before Jazzy Stars drew level as they got rewarded for their constant pressure on MPFA’s backline.

It took until the second half before we got our mojo back as it was Alvin Ajik 34th minutes strike and Israel Davou 47th minutes effort that gave our U14s a 3-1 lead. Both teams created little chances afterward as we closed out the day with a victory.

The boys continued from where they left off yesterday, as a brace from Fabian Peter deep into the second half gave our boys a much-deserved victory over Highland Stars of Rayfield.
