MPFA Coaches attend two-day seminar hosted by H&B Global Sports
Mees Palace Football Academy (MPFA) coaches attended a two-day seminar hosted by H&B Global Sports. The seminar took place at Golden Bibe Suits Rayfield, Jos, Plateau State with more than 40 grassroots coaches from the state in attendance.
The seminar was attended by top Plateau dignitaries, including the CEO of Mees Palace Football Academy Mr Emmanuel Adukwu, Plateau State FA Chairman Hon. Sunday Longbab, and Plateau United Head Coach Fidelis Illechukwu.
The organization’s Founder and CEO, Dr Henry Abiodun who is a CAF instructor, discussed numerous methods of teaching and coaching football techniques. He also elaborated on the need for coaches to impute to their players the current trends of the game rather than just doing drills for the most part.
Mr Abiodun also added that coaches should learn when, how, and what to correct, as well as how to use catchy terminology such as press, keep it, drop, pass, and cover.
The CEO of MPFA thanked the seminar organizers and encouraged them to continue holding similar seminars on the Plateau to help coaches learn more about their profession. Also, he encouraged the coaches to continue to tow the path of self-development. “We treat coaching as a part-time job rather than a full-time job. It should not be so.” Adukwu said.
At the end of the seminar, each coach who attended was given a coaching certificate of attendance.
